A 90-day action plan with responsibilities and review points.
Separate urgency from importance
Founders often face more demands than they can meet. Identify what protects people, sustains delivery and advances the mission. Decide which tasks need your attention and which can be delegated, delayed or stopped. Make your priorities visible to the team. Constant urgency can hide a lack of systems; recurring problems deserve a change in process, not only another personal intervention.
Handle setbacks as information
When an activity falls short, describe what happened without immediately assigning blame. Compare expectations with evidence. Ask whether the issue came from an assumption, resources, delivery or an external factor. Hear from those affected. Decide what will change, who will do it and when you will review the result. Learning requires acknowledging mistakes without allowing them to define the entire organisation.
Build leadership beyond the founder
Share information and give people clear authority within agreed limits. Develop colleagues who can run activities, represent the work and raise concerns. Create a rhythm for checking progress and discussing difficult decisions. Pay attention to your own workload and sources of support. If everything depends on you being available, the organisation needs stronger systems and a broader leadership base.
Create your 90-day plan
Choose no more than three priorities for the next 90 days. Give each a concrete outcome, an owner, resources and a deadline. Include a listening activity, a delivery milestone and a review of what you have learned. Schedule reviews at 30, 60 and 90 days. Share the plan with someone who can offer honest feedback. Treat it as a working commitment that can change when evidence changes.
Your working notes
- What are my three priorities for the next 90 days?
- For each priority: what outcome, owner, resources and deadline will we agree?
- What will I delegate, pause or stop?
- Who will review the plan with me at 30, 60 and 90 days?

Before you move on
Does your plan name achievable outcomes and responsible people, rather than only ambitions?
